Djo - Delete Ya
Djo is back with a new album, titled 'The Crux'. I already did a remake of Djo's last album, which you can see here, where I reconstructed all the synthesizers from the song 'Runner.'
This time he plays a guitar-driven song, with an '80s feel and that chorus effect on the guitar. The song is called 'Delete Ya' and it has been one of the first singles from this new album that will be released on April 4, 2025. I thought it was a fresh and catchy song from the beginning, especially its choruses.
Next, I leave you with the video tutorial where I cover the guitar of the song and where you can see its entire structure and chords, and below I briefly explain how to get that guitar sound!
Djo 'Delete Ya' Guitar Sound - 80's Chorus
As you may have seen in the video, the chords are not very complicated and the structure of the song is simple but functional: verse-prechorus-chorus, with a bridge almost at the end.
To recreate this 80s guitar sound, I used the following effects chain.

At the beginning and end of the chain I placed compressors, but you can use any brand of compressors, even the ones native to Ableton. Then I used the Archetype Cory Wong amp simulator with the following preset, to which I modified some values, and it has a clean sound with some delay. Listen to it below.

Then I added the RC-20 Retro Color to give it a touch of saturation and reverb, listen to it here.

Finally, to give it that 80s touch, I used this ValhallaUberMod preset that generates a very retro and beautiful chorus. Listen to the final result here!

And that's it! Remember that you can download the full guitar tablature and the Ableton project to save these presets, among many other benefits if you support me on Patreon! My work is possible thanks to you.
